After a long time of
begging and the usual promises, the children
finally got a hamster. They named it Danny. Two months later,
Mom found herself feeding and cleaning up after Danny all by
herself, so she soon found a new home for it.
The children took the news of Danny's imminent departure quite
well, though one of them remarked, "He's been around here a
long time. We'll miss him."
"Yes," Mom replied, "But he's too much work for one
person,
and since I'm that one person, I say he goes."
The other child said, "Well, maybe if he wouldn't eat so much
and wouldn't be so messy, we could keep him."
But Mom said firmly; "It's time to take Danny to his new home
now. Go and get his cage."
"Oh no!," they cried. "Danny? We thought you said
Daddy!"
Application:
If people are more concerned about a rodent than
you, maybe
it's time to take inventory of yourself. Be a blessing, not a burden.
1 Peter 3:91
Peter 3:9
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing,
because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
